15:00-16:30 | Side Event Room 3 – Narew- CICSS Director, Allison Chatrchyan, is presenting on multi-level policy perspectives on agriculture and country NDCs at this UN side event. The event will include case studies from countries who are including agriculture in their NDCs and adaptation plans, from Latin America, Africa, and the Caucasus, to explore the information and the type of interactions needed to develop sustainable plans.

12:00-14:00 | Marriott Courtyard Hotel, Ul Uniwersytecka 13, Katowice- Global Alliance for Climate-Smart Agriculture (GACSA) members share recommendations for implementing Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture, Gender Action Plan, and NDCs, as they relate to climate-smart agriculture (CSA). Discussions will delve into the possibilities for CSA to support the implementation of international agreements aimed at safeguarding food security and ending hunger and mainstreaming gender perspectives in all mandated areas of its interventions, such as Koronivia Joint Work on Agriculture, Gender Action Plan, and countries on the implementation of NDCs. Focus will be on current in-country examples of CSA practices, recommendations and success stories.
Cornell students will help GACSA organize and run this Side Event.

- “4 per 1000 Initiative” Day
by 4 per 1000, including Deborah Bossio (TNC) and Johannes Lehmann (Cornell)
8:30-18:30 | University of Silesia in Katowice- This annual, on the sidelines of the UNFCCC COPs, will bring together the 4th meeting of the Consortium of Members and the 3rd meeting of the Forum of Partners of the Initiative. It will be divided into a high-level opening session, inspirational talks reporting successes on the ground, and the 3rd Forum of Partners with plenary sessions and working groups. This day will end by a cocktail party where Members, Partners and Friends are welcome. Throughout the day, a poster session, will be organized in the same venue.
